SportsQuest vs. Louisburg Junior College (Post Grad)


This game was a shootout by both teams with the Spartans coming out on top 92-85. Manu Esso hit the first 3 pointer by either team to spark a 14-4 run that had the Spartans up by 8 midway through the first half. Brian White paced SportsQuest with 13 first half points and Travis Johnson was a presence on the boards with 5 first half rebounds, yet some late 3 pointers had the Spartans down 1 at the midway point. In the second half SportsQuest was able to open up the offense on the fast break, resulting in layups and open shots. Jordan Swopshire scored 18 of his 19 points in the second half, hitting three shots from beyond the arc. Myles Turner was able to attack the basket, resulting in him making 8 of 9 free throws. Jordan Dawes had a great all around game with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Late free throws sealed the deal and the Spartans came away with a great victory.

SportsQuest vs. New Hope Academy (Post Grad)


In the postgrad game, the Spartans lost to New Hope Academy 58-73. It was a low scoring affair until the second half when both teams started shooting better from the field. Myles Turner led all scorers with 14 and shot 50% from the 3 point line. Travis Johnson ended with 6 points and 5 rebounds, and Jordan Dawes finished with 10. Manu Esso and Kharri Harris stifled the opposing guards with great ball pressure defense, and Jordan Swopshire had a team high 9 rebounds.

SportsQuest vs. Mon Clare Christian Academy (Post Gradl) Loss 111-96

In another shootout with Monclair Christian Academy, SportsQuest fell in a 111-96 loss. Falling behind early, Myles Turner paced the Spartans and ended the half sizzling with 18 first half points. He ended with 7 assists and a season high 29 points. Zach Tabrani hit 2 quick 3’s to bring the lead within 7 points and Daniel Kilcullen hit two quick jumpers to spark a run that would end up tying the game 49-49 at halftime. Curt Jones had a great game as well, ending with 15 points and 5 assists. Marsellis Purvis had a monster game, finishing with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 blocks.

SportsQuest vs. Phelps Academy (Post Gradl) Loss 88-95


The SportsQuest Spartans fell short in a high octane scoring affair with the postgrad team of Phelps academy 88-95. SportsQuest fell down early by 13 points in the first half but stormed back thanks to Kharri Harris and his 11 first half points. Jordan Dawes also added 2 first half three pointers to cut the lead down to 8 by halftime.  Travis Johnson added 5 timely rebounds to keep pace in the second half but the Spartans could not regain the lead. Myles Turner and Jordan Swopshire were the teams leading scorers with 24 and 26 points.

SportsQuest vs. Hargrave Military Academy (Post Grad)


The Spartans went up against their toughest opponent thus far in the season in the well-established Hargrave Military Academy. Despite scoring 93 points, the Spartans were unable to keep pace with Hargrave’s excellent shooting, giving up 135 points. An astounding 24 three pointers made by Hargrave dug a large hole for the Spartans to climb out of, but they fought until the last second. Jordan Dawes had a great all around game with 15 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Manu Esso played great defense and ran the offense with great efficiency, getting players easy looks to score. Jordan Swopshire added 15 points along with 11 rebounds, and Myles Turner finished with 10 points and 3 steals. Travis Johnson also played well shooting 50% from the field finishing with 8 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. But the game ball went to Brian White. He scored 24 points at halftime, and finished the game with a staggering 39 points and 8 rebounds for SportsQuest. He was 18 of 28 from the field and wreaked havoc on the opponent with his ability to hit the midrange jumper and attack the basket.
